Women - You Can't Have It Both Ways

Well can I just say…it’s middle age white women (as well as women of all ages, all over the world) who have suffered the pain of pornography and the dehumanization and objectification of women…women whose marriages have crumbled, who have been sexually assaulted and who have been dismissed as not being seen for their intelligence or contribution. Detrimental Leadership Mistake - Overlooking the Quiet Ones

We’re getting it wrong when it comes to identifying leaders.  Not all the time…but a lot of the time. When are we going to learn that it’s not about the good looks or showiness?  It’s not about the charisma, pedigree, loudness or shininess of the package.  We’re failing to look beyond the outer presentation, investigate, dig deep, and use God-given discernment to discover the true depth, health, and wholeness of those we desire to elevate to leadership. We’re failing to discover if they possess integrity, character, and resolve – the true inner being of a leader. You’re that gerbil on a wheel going round and round, faster and faster, and for the life of you, you can’t figure out how to get off.  I woke up that way this morning – a bit panicked; a bit tired, and a small piece of me wondering how in the world I was going to straighten all of this out.  Between work, church, home, friends, family, aging parents and a 15 year old dog named Lucy who needs our assistance to stand up, there’s just a bit too much to do.  And don’t even tell me how many weeks until Thanksgiving or Christmas!  Seriously – I automatically translate that into the number of paydays, which causes my insides to flip out, my mind to race, and yes, my toes to tingle. Ugh!
