Irma Will Not Have the Final Word
As I continue to watch the news stations as they predict and report the approach of possibly the most powerful hurricane in recorded history, Irma, I have decided to not post my usual weekly blog, as it seems pretty insignificant at this time. Rather, I want to let those in Florida know that I am praying. But more importantly than that, literally millions and millions of others are praying for you as well. Why? Because like you, we know that the God of all creation, the Creator of the universe, the Lover of your soul, is in the midst of the storm with you. We know that He will not leave you. He will not forsake you. He is greater than any storm or hurricane, especially Irma. He will see you through this.
I can’t imagine how frightened or anxious you may be. As many of you may know, Stan and I left Florida to meet the moving van in North Carolina just two days ago, to embark on this new journey. The sale of our home near Tampa Bay closed just three days ago. As I think of the timing of these events, I am both amazed and perplexed. Although I don’t quite understand it all, I am trusting God with it all.
Although many scriptures come to mind at the moment, this simple proclamation in Psalm 46:1, comes to the forefront, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Much like the Psalmist, I am convinced that He is your refuge and your strength during this incredibly difficult and troublesome time. He is your ever-present help as you endure this storm. He is your Fortress and your Protector. He is your Savior and your Deliverer. He is your Healer and He is your Abba-Father.
If you're afraid, that's okay. He understands. If your worried, that's okay, too. He is with you in your worry. If you feel weak, He's your strength. If you feel anxious, He is your courage. You don't have to be "super Christian" during this time. It's not about how strong you are. It's about how strong He is.
You are loved. You are incredibly important. And I speak for millions as I say, you are in our prayers.
Irma’s got nothing on you, as you are in the palm of His hand. And He will have the final word. Period.
Much love,
Cammie
